Neighborhood Lending Down Payment Assistance Program

The Possibilities

Through the Neighborhood Lending Down Payment Assistance Program, CityWide helps Dayton's low and moderate-income families realize their dreams of home ownership by offering assistance with the down payment and closing costs.

The Benefits

CityWide's Neighborhood Lending Program provides...

  • Direct assistance to help homebuyers who wish to invest in a home as a straight purchase or purchase for rehabilitation.
  • Neighborhood stability and vitality through home ownership and repair of all code violations.

The Facts

Maximum Assistance:

For families at or below 80% median income adjusted for family size, the program provides 6% down payment assistance up to $5,000, for purchases anywhere within the City of Dayton.

or,

For families above 80% median income adjusted for family size, the program provides 6% down payment assistance up to $5,000, for purchases within 1 of the 24 designated Community Development Areas in the City of Dayton.

Eligibility:

  • One- or two-unit structures are eligible.
  • The property must be a principle residence.
  • The property must be vacant or owner-occupied.
  • All violations of city codes must be repaired either prior to purchase or within six months of closing-except painting, which must be done before closing.
