CITYWIDE DEVELOPMENT BOARD OF TRUSTEES ELECTS TWO NEW BOARD MEMBERS

Five Others Elected in 2006

DAYTON, March 2007 - Along with the election of new chairman J. Michael Herr, CityWide Development Corporation’s Board of Trustees recently elected two new members:

Dan Kennedy
Kennedy is a software test analyst for the Elsevier Science division. He formerly worked as a data analyst for another Elsevier-owned firm, LexisNexis. He is a member of the Eastern Hills Community Council and represents that neighborhood on the Southeast Priority Board as an officer-at-large.

Don Vermillion
A former Montgomery County administrator and Miamisburg city manager, Vermillion is currently director of public projects for the University of Dayton Fitz Center. He also serves as chairman of the Kettering Development Corporation Board and is a member of the Alter High School Board of Trustees.

Kennedy and Vermillion join a Board that includes five members newly elected in 2006:

Toni Perry Gillespie
Gillespie is the director of external affairs at AT&T Ohio. Prior to joining AT&T in 1998, she worked as the minority business coordinator for the former State of Ohio Attorney General Betty D. Montgomery. She is a member of several boards and committees and has received numerous awards for her business-related volunteer activities.

Robert J. May Jr.
May is executive director of the Aeronautical Systems Center at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, making him the center’s senior civilian. Prior to his current assignment, he was executive director of the Air Force Research Laboratory. He is a member of several local boards and has received the Decoration for Exceptional Civilian Service from the Air Force, along with many other awards.

Michael McCabe, Ph.D.
McCabe is vice president for research at the University of Dayton, and executive director on the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI). He has managed various research organizations for more than 20 years in both the university and industrial arenas. Under his leadership, the UDRI has become a regional leader in technology-based economic development and a national leader in materials research.

Howard Part, M.D.
Part became the fifth dean of Wright State University School of Medicine in May 1999, the first to come from the ranks of the medical school’s voluntary faculty. He joined the medical school’s affiliated faculty in 1988. He was won numerous teaching awards and has extensive experience in advancing community partnerships.

Gary Roan
Roan is senior vice president and team sales leader for KeyBank’s Private Banking Group. With 25 years experience in financial services, he has received numerous awards and honors during his career. He serves on several Dayton boards and committees, including the Dayton Public School Advisory Committee and the Community Capital Development Corporation Board.
