DAYTON, OHIO-BASED ECONOMIC DEVELOPER TO BE ACKNOWLEDGED WITH SPECIAL DESIGNATION

Steve Budd Recognized for Furthering Economic Development Cause as a Teacher and Source of Inspiration

Acknowledging Steve Budd for an enduring commitment to the field of economic development, the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) will present its Honorary Life Member Designation to Mr. Budd at IEDC's Annual Conference, which is scheduled to take place in New York City, September 17-20. He will be recognized for this achievement during an awards ceremony on Monday, September 18th.

"The designation of Honorary Life Member is given by IEDC to an active or former member of IEDC who has furthered the profession of economic development as a teacher and inspiration to others in many communities," said Ronnie L. Bryant, IEDC Chairman. "Mr. Budd has been dedicated to our industry and has, without question, earned this designation."

Mr. Budd is President of Dayton, Ohio-based CityWide Development Corporation, a position he has held since 1989. The mission of CityWide Development is to provide leadership in the creation and implementation of strategies addressing the city’s need for economic growth and viable, attractive neighborhoods. CityWide, along with other partners including the City of Dayton, is the developer for Rehabarama, Citirama, the Genesis and Phoenix projects (neighborhood real estate and home show projects), and is implementing the Dayton regional Tech Town cluster development strategy. CityWide’s services include financing programs for economic and housing development, venture capital investment, real estate development, strategic development planning, consumer credit counseling, financial feasibility studies and site location analysis. Mr. Budd is a past Chair of IEDC.
